Meet Us!
Hi I'm Suzy! I grew up helping my dad train and breed Labradors. He would show them in Obedience and Agility. I spent many weekends climbing in the kennels with our dogs at shows. So, it was only natural to want to continue to help families find their perfect dog to add to their family.
My husband, Nate, also grew up with dogs in his family. After he graduated college and purchased a home, he applied to many rescues only to be turned down for reasons that would make it almost impossible for any grown adult to get a dog. We got our first Rescue Aussie in 2009, her name was Paris. She was a good dog who showed us exactly what we loved about the breed and what we wanted to improve upon. We knew at the time we were not ready to have kids, but we also realized we needed our future dogs to be raised with a very well-rounded behaviors and lots of early training, to make them better canine citizens, especially around children. Unfortunately, Paris passed away in 2014 of Dilated Cardiomyopathy (DCM), basically, an enlargement of the heart that was later linked back to the grain free dog food we were feeding her. This led me on a path to research all types of dog food. Now we are happy to believe in the food we feed and the company who makes it. Which gives me and my family piece of mind. I am proud to be a Life’s Abundance Independent Field Representative. We did lots of research and found Susi, of Blessedhope Aussies, which brought a new puppy, Bora, into our family in 2015. I show our dogs in Conformation, Rally and Trick classes. Our two young children enjoy going to the shows and helping out, even showing in the "pee wee" classes where they get to run around the ring with the dogs. Our dogs live with us in our home and have plenty of room to play on our 2 acre property near the beautiful Ojai Valley just North of Ventura. The dogs love hiking on the nearby trails. They also enjoy interacting with our other animals. It's is fun to watch them with the horses, sheep, cats, and ducks. I also enjoy training horses and competing with them in my spare time. Our dogs make our family whole and we are all passionate about putting in lots of time and love into the first 8 to 9 weeks of their lives when they create life long memories. We love that they are such a big part of our family. |
